  • 1Don’t be tempted to re-use your used marinade because it may contain harmful bacteria.
  • 2After handling raw meat, wash hands, utensils, cutting boards and other food preparation surfaces with hot, soapy water.
  • 3Don't place cooked meat back onto a platter that previously held raw meat.
  • 4Always use clean utensils to handle and cut cooked meats.
  • 5If using a basting brush to apply barbecue sauce or marinade, be careful to avoid brushing sauce onto raw meat and then placing the brush back into the bottle.
  • 6Never leave your grill unattended.
  • 7Place grill in an open space that is away from trees and keep children and pets away from the grill.
