Storing Meat

  • Freeze individual pieces of chicken in plastic bags - they thaw more quickly - and you can pull out one or several depending on your needs. You can add Kraft - Dressing to some then freeze - so they marinate as they thaw.
  • Store meats on lowest refrigerator shelf away from contact with other foods. When defrosting meat, let it thaw in the refrigerator or use a microwave. Never let it sit on the counter for more the 2 hours.
  • You can store ground beef in the freezer for 2-3 months. If you divide it into half-pound portions it will thaw more quickly and let you use a little more or a little less, as you like.
