CHICKEN KEEMA KD SMART

Makes: 4 servings, 1 cup (250 mL) each.


Keema is the term for ground meat cooked with onions, tomatoes and spices.

What You Need:

  • 1 pkg. (225 g) Kraft Dinner Smart Vegetable Macaroni & Cheese
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • ½ tsp. cumin seed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ lb. (225 g) lean ground chicken
  • 1 cup canned diced tomatoes, undrained
  • ½ tsp. ground coriander
  • ½ tsp. garam masala
  • ½ tsp. red chili powder or cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp. ground turmeric

Make It:

Prepare Kraft Dinner Smart as directed on package.

Meanwhile, heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add
cumin seed; cook and stir 30 sec. Stir in onions; cook 2 min. or until crisp-tender, stirring frequently. Add chicken; cook 2 min., stirring frequently. Stir in tomatoes and seasonings; cook 10 min., stirring occasionally while mashing tomatoes with back of spoon.

Add Kraft Dinner Smart; mix lightly.

Substitute:

Prepare using ground beef, turkey or lamb.
