Baking Techniques: Testing Doneness for Cakes, Brownies and Pies
- Check cake or pie at minimum baking time. If toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean, cake or pie is done.
- If you're out of toothpicks, grab a strand of uncooked spaghetti. It makes a great cake tester.
