    Egg Vases

For individual egg vases, carefully crack tops off fresh eggs. Let white and yolk drain out. Rinse carefully. Fill eggshell vases with water and small spring flowers, then place in egg cups. You can also use silk flowers without water for a longer-lasting idea.

Make a spring basket for a centrepiece or hostess gift. Reach for a basket, some ribbon and a few silk flowers and fill with packing straw, coloured eggs, candy, fruit, or fresh flowers.

    Kids' Egg Art

    Kids' Egg Art

Eggs, the symbol of the new life of the Easter season, are among the best Spring decorations of all. Let your kids colour and decorate eggs any way they choose. Then pile their works of art onto straw-filled bowls, baskets or platters. Use a colourful napkin or placemat to line a platter, or run a series of placemats on the kitchen counter or down the dining room table to use as a background for a colourful assembly of Easter eggs. You'll have a one-of-a-kind decoration that will earn lots of praise for your budding artists.

    Egg Baskets

    Egg Baskets

Forget the traditional Easter baskets, and bring out your favourite bowls and vases. Fill them with craft-store straw, in natural or tinted colours, or stuff the bottoms with crumpled newspaper and top with a layer of moss. Bend a branch or twig and insert the ends into the bowl to look like a handle. Or, tie a pastel bow around the rim. Then fill the containers with small trinkets, gifts, eggs, nuts or pastel candies. Friends and family will be delighted to find your thoughtful treats among the straw.
