I love the concept of this recipe but it certainly needs some tweaking. The chicken needed salt and my sauce burned with the 6 hours on low. I think the next time I will try adding some orange juice concentrate like the other reviews stated and add a little less BBQ sauce. I think part of my problem may have been that I have a large crock pot and I think a smaller pot would have done the trick. May try it in the oven next time too.

I love this recipe, but my husband wasn't that big of a fan. Worth a try. Great with rice.

We've made this about three times now and my husband and I love it. So easy to make and tasty. It's also super cheap if you buy the marmalade from the Dollarstore. Actually, you can also get Kraft bbq at the Dollarstore or on sale at the grocery store for $1.

Made this for dinner tonight, with modifications, and it was great. I used bone-in skinless chicken thighs and tossed them with the flour right in the slow cooker. I mixed up the sauce ingredients in a large measuring cup (leaving out the ginger, nobody here likes it at all) & immediately thought that the BBQ sauce was completely overpowering the orange marmalade. Having read other reviews saying much the same thing, I increased the orange marmalade to 1 1/2 cups, and also stirred in a generous 1/2 cup of frozen orange juice concentrate (very slightly thawed). These modifications not only made the chicken truly Orange Chicken (instead of BBQ Chicken), it also solved the problem other reviewers had of having the dish be overcooked - the extra marmalade and the OJ concentrate increased the sauce to the level where the chicken had ample coverage and was fall-off-the-bone juicy & tender even after 6 1/2 hours on Low. I'll definitely make this again (with my modifications).

Both my friend and I had made this (Seperately) and we both agreed... Thumbs down. It had a bitter taste that was just off. Sorry but would not make this one again. LOVE some of the others I have tried though!

I would make this but not for more than 6 hours on low. My chicken was too overcooked and the sauce was burned. My husband liked it so I will try it again.
