One substitute I did was to cover the roast in root beer in the crockpot. An hour before your are ready to serve it drain the crockpot, shred the pork and add the sauce and half a beer to moisten the meet a bit more. Let cook for an hour and serve. We didn't need the mayo as the meet was so moist.

Very tasty, just as good as in a restaurant if not better. I used hickory bull's eye sauce. I found fork shredding the roast took quite a while but is worth it. All up to that step can be done before guests arrived. I added harvarti slices. Great for sports entertaining!

Melt in your mouth! I didn't have marmalade so I used Spicy Red Pepper Jelly instead. Added a kick that my husband and I enjoyed!

Delicious - just fell apart. Did not have the marmalade and substituted with a tablespoon of brown sugar and a 1/4 cup of orange juice - very good!

Didn't use quite as much marmalade as recommended as I saw a few comments saying it was too much. Altered the sauce to my special sauce (the Mrmak sauce consists mostly of Heinz ketchup, a little Kraft Bbq sauce probably not quite a tablespoon, a couple teaspoons of brown sugar, toasted sesame seeds, a couple teaspoons of the marmalade, and whatever else I happen to think tastes good in it that day haha). Pork just fell apart! It was great. Also, just used one onion for cooking, and didn't include it in the sauce or sandwich at all, as I'm not a big fan of overly-oniony flavour. yes, I said oniony. haha :) Otherwise, excellent recipe, very helpful!

My family was not too fond of this recipe. Most of it was fed to the garbage. Sorry.

It was wonderful and tasty. My husband really enjoyed it. It is very easy and tastes delicious. The orange marmalade taste is quite strong but it really adds to the flavour of the dish.

I made this for a family gathering and everyone loved it. Even my extremely picky cousin! I loved how easy it was to make. All I had to do was prepare it in the slow cooker before work and when I got home it was ready.
