Shrimp Carbonara

What You Need

220 g spaghetti, uncooked

4 slices bacon, chopped

1 lb. (450 g) uncooked deveined peeled large shrimp

1 cup frozen peas

1 tub (250 g) Philadelphia Herb & Garlic Light Cream Cheese Spread

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup Kraft 100% Parmesan Light Grated Cheese

Make It

COOK spaghetti in large saucepan as directed on package, omitting salt. Meanwhile, cook bacon in large skillet until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet with slotted spoon, reserving 1 Tbsp. drippings in skillet. Drain bacon on paper towels.

ADD shrimp to reserved drippings; cook and stir on medium heat 5 min. or until shrimp turns pink. Stir in peas; cook 1 min. Add cream cheese spread and milk; cook and stir 4 min. or cream cheese is melted and sauce is thickened. (Do not let sauce come to boil).

DRAIN spaghetti; return to pan. Add shrimp mixture and bacon; mix lightly. Top with Parmesan.

It was very good. The only thing I changed was to double the bacon and used frozen mixed veggies that I had on hand.

This was a terrific recipe....so easy, so delicous! I didn't have the garlic herb cream cheese, so I just used regular cream cheese, and added a bit of garlic powder, and some dried parsley flakes. It is going into my family favourites recipe book. I am going to make this using chicken next time.

Yummy, quick and easy. I cooked the pasta separately and tossed with the sauce as I served each plate. Otherwise, I find that the sauce dries up on the pasta and the leftover is not quite as delicious.
