This is a really old old recipe. I've made it for years. It is also extremely good with drained crushed pineapple instead of jam and not as sweet.

The top was excellent, but the base left something to be desired. It almost seems as though there is an ingredient missing. It turned out hard and lumpy. Did I do something wrong?

The raspberry-coconut bars are delicious - not too sweet but the base is crumbly. It may be due to the high altitude here (Laurentians). However I will bake them again and see .

I make this for Christmas tin gifts. They are moist, soft and packed with flavor. Raspberry is my favorite, but I have tried apricot with great results.

I used frozen Blueberries instead of jam. Very refreshing and tasty.
