This recipe was great! Its easy to make and tastes great! I didn't have any cornstarch and used more flour but it still tuned out well. I would definitely make this pie again!

This was my first attempt at making apple pie and this turned out great! I am also not the best baker out there but I will definatly be making this one again

My first time making Apple pie & crust from scratch; I made it for a big family Thanksgiving dinner, and it was a big hit! I will definitely make this again... now I'm over my fear of crust from scratch!

I used this recipe on my first pie attempt ever and it was excellent. I have modified it slightly to suit my family's tastes (doubled the apples, switched to brown sugar, used golden shortening, rolled the crust thinner and saved the extra for another pie - I have about half a single crust pie left over). This year I'm going to make a bunch and freeze them!

My mother-in-law crowned me the "apple pie Queen" after making this perfect apple pie! Try it with whole wheat flour - delicious! Be sure to use tart apples - otherwise, it could be too sweet.

The crust is nice and light and flaky. I didn't have shortening so I used Marg, but it turned out really good. The apples weren't really sweet either. All in all a great apple pie recipe.

The pie turned out really nice. The crust was perfect but I found there wasn't enough flavour in the pie. Next time I might add some brown sugar to the recipe or a bit more cinnamon.
