The recipe was delicious; however, the petal pieces were hard to ice neatly with CoolWhip and often fell over on to each other. Perhaps larger petal pieces would give it stability.

this cake was adorable! It is easier to just put the marshmallows on the top of the petals though! It ices better when frozen.

Cake had a dense texture. First time: frosting the wedges was very finicky and very messy, therefore very time consuming. Crumbs from cut wedges transferred to frosting. Second time: froze cake. Frozen cake was easier to cut, and easier to frost (fewer crumbs), but still very messy and finicky to assemble. Also cut a 1-inch circle out of 9-inch round, so wedges had blunt points - easier to fit to center bowl cake. Conclusion: cake tasted good, design looked nice in the end. Family not fussy on bland taste of Cool Whip by itself; would prefer a whipped cream or sugar frosting. The marshmallows dried out overnight (cake was decorated the day before). I won't make this design again.

Relatively easy to do and spectacular to look at. The only challenge was finding an appropriate platter to put it on!
