5 cups sliced peeled apples (about 5 medium, 1-1/2 lb./675 g)
1/2 cup  sugar, divided
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp.  ground nutmeg
2 cups shredded P'TIT QUÉBEC Very Mild White Cheddar Cheese
1/2 cup  flour
1/2 cup plain bread crumbs
1/2 cup  sliced almonds
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup  butter, melted
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

HEAT oven to 325°F. Toss apples, 1/4 cup of the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in buttered 9-inch square baking dish.

MIX cheese, flour, bread crumbs, almonds, raisins, remaining 1/4 cup sugar and butter. Sprinkle over apples.

BAKE 40 min. or until browned and apples are tender. Serve warm with whipped topping.
