What You Need

1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix
2 cups  boiling water
2 pkg. (85 g each) JELL-O Jelly Powder, any flavour
3-3/4 cups  thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
1 Tbsp. decorating icing
40   candy-coated chocolate pieces

Make It

PREPARE cake batter and bake in 13x9-inch baking pan as directed on package. Cool in pan 15 min. (Do not remove cake from pan.)

MEANWHILE, stir boiling water into dry jelly powder in large bowl at least 2 min. until completely dissolved. Pierce cake with large fork or wooden skewer at 1/2-inch intervals. Carefully pour jelly over cake in pan. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

TRANSFER cake to cutting board; cut into pieces as shown in diagram. Arrange pieces on large foil-covered board or platter to resemble a spaceship (see diagram). Spread top and sides of cake with whipped topping. Decorate with remaining ingredients as desired. Store in refrigerator. Add sparkler candles to bottom of cake and light up just before serving to resemble the blast off!

How to Frost A Cake
If the cake is very soft and crumbly, apply a “crumb coating” to prevent cake crumbs from mixing with the frosting. Spread a thin layer of frosting over the entire cake, then let stand 5 to 10 min. or until frosting is set. Spread remaining frosting over cake.
Cooking Know-How
Make sure cake is completely cooled before frosting. A warm cake can cause the frosting to soften or melt.

" This was so fun to decorate, I didnt use the cake recipe, we just made a regular cake and cut and decorated it like the one in the pictures. It was for my sons 3rd birthday and it was a HUGE hit even the little girls loved it!!!! "
