What You Need

1 pkg. (2-layer size) cake mix, any flavour
2 cups thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping, divided
5 drops green food colouring
Black decorating gel

Make It

PREPARE cake batter as directed on package. Remove 1 cup of the batter; pour into greased 2-cup ovenproof glass bowl. Pour remaining batter into greased foil-lined 13x9-inch baking dish. Bake both cakes for 25 to 30 min. or until toothpick inserted in centres comes out clean. Cool completely.

REMOVE 1/2 cup of the whipped topping; set aside. Stir food colouring into the remaining whipped topping. Invert 13x9-inch cake onto large serving platter. Remove pan. Frost cake with the green whipped topping.

INVERT round cake onto separate plate; spread with the white whipped topping. Place on top of 13x9-inch cake. Decorate with the black decorating gel as shown in photo to resemble a soccer ball. Store in refrigerator.

kraft kitchens tips

Easy Cleanup
Lining the baking dish with foil makes for easy cleanup and easy removal of the cake from the baking dish. When lining the dish, allow 3 inches of the foil to extend over each side of dish to use as handles when removing the cake from the dish.
How to Frost a Cake
If the cake is very soft and crumbly, apply a “crumb coating” to prevent cake crumbs from mixing with the frosting. Spread a thin layer of frosting over the entire cake, then let stand 5 to 10 min. or until frosting is set. Spread remaining frosting over cake.
Cooking Know-How
Make sure cakes are completely cooled before frosting. A warm cake can cause the frosting to soften or melt.
