What You Need

2 cups sugar, divided
1 can (12 fl oz/385 mL) evaporated milk
1 pkg. (250 g) Philadelphia Brick Cream Cheese, softened, cubed
5 eggs
1/8 tsp. salt
2 squares Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted
1 Tbsp. orange-flavoured liqueur
1 Tbsp. grated orange zest

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Place 1 cup of the sugar in small heavy saucepan; cook on medium heat until sugar is melted and deep golden brown in colour, stirring constantly. Immediately pour into 9-inch round cake pan; tilt pan to evenly cover bottom of pan with syrup. Set aside.

PLACE evaporated milk and cream cheese in blender container; cover. Blend until smooth. Add remaining 1 cup sugar, the eggs, salt, melted chocolate, liqueur and orange peel; cover. Blend well. Pour over syrup in pan; cover with foil. Place in larger shallow baking dish that is filled with enough hot water to come halfway up outside of cake pan.

BAKE 50 min. to 1 hour or until knife inserted near centre comes out clean. Carefully remove cake pan from water bath; cool completely. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Unmould just before serving by inverting pan onto serving platter. Store in refrigerator.

kraft kitchens tips

Chocolate Curls
To make chocolate curls, microwave 1 wrapped square of chocolate on DEFROST 1 min. Pull a vegetable peeler over the bottom of the chocolate square to form curls. Use a toothpick to pick up the curls to prevent breaking.
Citrus Curls
Use a vegetable peeler or citrus zester to remove long thin strips of orange peel. Roll into curls, then add to top of flan just before serving for a colourful garnish.
