What You Need

4 large Granny Smith apples (1-1/2 lb./750 g)
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon, divided
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
3 Tbsp. cold butter
1 cup whole grain cereal flakes with raisins, dates and pecans

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 375°F. Peel, core and slice apples. Toss with cranberries, 2 Tbsp. brown sugar and 1/2 tsp. of the cinnamon in 8-inch square baking dish.

MIX 1/2 cup brown sugar, the flour and remaining 1/2 tsp. cinnamon in large bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cereal. Sprinkle over apple mixture.

BAKE 30 min. or until apples are tender. Serve warm.

Prepare as directed, substituting dried cranberries for the fresh cranberries and/or fresh pears for the apples.
