Dinosaur Birthday Cake

What You Need

1 pkg. (2-layer size) cake mix

3 cups Cool Whip Whipped Topping, thawed

food colouring, red & blue

Assorted candies

Make It

PREPARE cake mix according to package directions for 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Cut cake as shown in illustration.

ADD 3 to 4 drops blue & red food colouring to whipped topping to colour frosting purple. Using a small amount of frosting to hold pieces together, arrange cake on serving tray, as shown in photograph.

FROST cake with remaining whipped topping. Decorate with assorted candies.

Take a table knife and run it through the frosted cake before positioning the candies to give dinosaur a scaly or wrinkly skin.

" I made this cake for my nephews 4th birthday and it was a huge hit. I made the icing a green colour and then deocarted the cake with lots of different candies;I even gave the dinosaur teeth. I decorated the leftover cake pieces as an erupting volcano. "
