Five-Spice Chicken

What You Need

4 small chicken leg quarters (1-1/2 lb./675 g)
1/4 cup Kraft Original BBQ Sauce
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 Tbsp. rice vinegar
1 tsp. five-spice powder
8 Bibb lettuce leaves

Make It

BRING large pan of water to boil. Add chicken; return to boil. Drain; set chicken aside.

MIX next 5 ingredients in large bowl. Add chicken; toss to evenly coat. Refrigerate 30 min. to marinate.

HEAT oven to 400ºF. Remove chicken from marinade; discard marinade. Place chicken in single layer in shallow foil-lined pan.

BAKE 30 min. or until chicken is done (170ºF). Serve on lettuce-covered platter.

Chicken can be marinated up to 24 hours before baking as directed.
Five Spice Powder
Known in China as "five-fragrance powder," this pungent mixture of five ground spices usually consists of equal parts of cinnamon, cloves, fennel seed, star anise and Sichuan peppercorns. Pre-packaged five-spice powder is available in Asian markets and most supermarkets.
