Fruit Ketchup

What You Need

2 cans (796 mL/28 fl oz each) diced tomatoes, drained
4 apples, peeled, chopped
2 pears, peeled, chopped
2 peaches, peeled, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 cup sugar
1 cup Kraft Signature Sweet Onion Vinaigrette Dressing
1 cup white vinegar
1/3 cup pickling spices

Make It

COMBINE all ingredients except pickling spices in stockpot or very large saucepan. Wrap pickling spices in cheesecloth (or place in diffuser ball). Add to ingredients in pot.

BRING to boil on medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 1-1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

REMOVE and discard pickling spices. Cool ketchup to room temperature. Transfer to airtight containers. Store in refrigerator up to 1 month.

Substitute
Substitute 2 lb./1 kg fresh tomatoes, peeled and chopped, for the canned tomatoes.
Keeping it Safe
Prepared ketchup can be stored in refrigerator up to 1 month. For longer storage, spoon into freezer containers and freeze up to 3 months. Or store in sealed sterile jars at room temperature up to 1 year.
