HEAT oil in large saucepan over medium het. Sauté onion, garlic and mushrooms for 2 minutes. Add green pepper, celery and carrots and sauté 5 minutes longer. Stir in tomatoes, chili powder and salt. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
STIR in kidney beans and corn and cook, uncovered, about 5 minutes longer.
SPOON into bowls and sprinkle with cheese.
