what you need

1 pkg. (2-layer size) cake mix, any flavour
2 cups cold milk
2 pkg. (4-serving size each) Jell-O Chocolate Instant Pudding
Few drops food colouring, any colour
2 cups thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping
Decorating gel
6 candy-coated chocolate pieces

make it

PREPARE cake batter and bake in greased foil-lined 13x9-inch baking pan as directed on package. Cool in pan 15 min. (Do not remove cake from pan.) Pierce cake using round handle of wooden spoon at 1-inch intervals. (Or, use plastic drinking straw to make holes, using a turning motion to make large holes in cake.) Set aside.

ADD milk to dry pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended. Pour evenly over cake. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

REMOVE cake from pan using foil edges and place on cutting board. Cut cake into pieces with serrated knife. Remove foil on bottom and arrange cake on large serving platter as shown in diagram.

STIR food colouring into whipped topping; spread onto top and sides of cake. Decorate with decoating gel and candies to represent your child's favourite team. Store in refrigerator.

kraft kitchens tips

How to Frost A Cake
If the cake is very soft and crumbly, apply a “crumb coating” to prevent cake crumbs from mixing with the frosting. Spread a thin layer of frosting over the entire cake, then let stand 5 to 10 min. or until frosting is set. Spread remaining frosting over cake.
Easy Cleanup
Lining the baking pan with foil makes for easy cleanup and easy removal of the cake from the baking pan. When lining the pan, allow 3 inches of the foil to extend over each side of pan to use as handles when removing the cake from the pan.
