SLIP skins from grapes. Add 1/2 cup water to pulp; bring to a boil and simmer, covered, 5 minutes. Sieve to remove seeds. Chop skins finely and add to pulp.
MEASURE 5 cups prepared fruit into large saucepan. Add spices.
ADD sugar to fruit and mix well.
PLACE saucepan over high heat and bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
IMMEDIATELY stir in pectin. Stir and skim foam with metal spoon for 5 minutes to prevent floating fruit.
POUR quickly into warm, sterilized jars, filling up to 1/4 inch from rim. Seal while hot with sterilized 2-piece lids with new centres.
