

Sheer Khurma is a very popular dessert for Eid. Kraft Caramels simplify this recipe by eliminating the traditional step of frying the sevian in butter to achieve the same colour and caramelized taste.
17 Kraft Caramels
2 cups 2% milk
1 can (370 mL) evaporated milk
1/2 cup Back to Nature Trail Mix - Almonds, Raisins, Cranberries and Pistachios, chopped
1/2 cup sevian (short-cut thin vermicelli), uncooked
1/4 tsp. saffron threads
1 tsp. ground cardamom
COOK and stir first 3 ingredients in large saucepan on high heat 10 min. or until caramels are completely melted and sauce is well blended.
ADD next 3 ingredients; stir. Cover; simmer on medium-low heat 20 min. or until sevian is tender. Remove from heat.
STIR in cardamom. Serve warm.
For a change of pace, serve chilled. Prepare as directed, then cool and refrigerate 2 hours or until chilled.
Substitute vermicelli for the sevian; break into 1-inch pieces before cooking as directed.
