If making this recipe for a smaller group, make one cake in an 8x8 pan, and one in a loaf pan. That way, you can enjoy one cake, and then freeze the leftover (tightly wrap in aluminum foil). To thaw, heat in a 325 degrees F oven until warmed through, and then mix up some extra glaze to go on top.
