  • 1. Preheat over to 350°F. Prepare and bake cake mix as package directs for 2 – 9” layers. Cool and remove from pans. Once cooled and ready to assemble cut each cake in half to make four layers.
  • 2. In large bowl, mix condensed milk and melted chocolate. Stir in water, then instant pudding until smooth. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
  • 3. Remove chocolate mixture from refrigerator, and stir to loosen. Whip cream until peaks form. Fold in whipped cream and return to refrigerator for at least an hour.
  • 4. Place one layer of cake onto a serving platter. Top with 1/4 of the mousse. Continue layering cake with mousse between each layer. Then cover top and sides with remaining mousse. Refrigerate until serving.

Notes

I found this recipe on the back of a baker secret pan. It has become a family favourite. You can try using the low fat products for the condensed milk and pudding but I find the consistency isn't the same.
