  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Cut onion in half and thinly slice both halves. Place roast, fat side down in a medium casserole dish. Cover with the barbecue sauce, onions, season with salt and pepper and steak seasonings.
  • Bake, covered, for 1 1/2 - 2 hours depending on the size of the roast. When cooked to an internal temperature of 170 degrees F, remove roast from the pan and let cool for a few minutes. Add water to the sauce mixture.
  • Using two forks, shred the roast and return the meat to the sauce mixture. Heat through and serve over toasted bread or buns.
