  • Put all vegetables except potatoes in a pot and add just enough water to cover. Add salt and bring to boil, cook about 15 min.
  • Add potatoes and add little water if necessary. Boil for about 20 more min or until potatoes are tender.
  • Season with pepper and pour in the evaporated milk (or cream) and butter. Stir gently and simmer until butter has melted and milk is heated, remove from heat and serve.

Notes

This is a chowder type recipe and is best prepared with young fresh vegetables and served with buttered rolls or biscuits.

    Wil vouch for the Hodgepodge. Can hardly wait until we have fresh beans and new potatoes from the garden. From another down homer!!!!
