  • Prepare cake mix as directed on box. Pour cake batter into flan pans (1 cake mix will make 2 flans) and bake according to box directions.
  • While cake is baking, in a saucepan, combine pineapple and white sugar OR artificial sweetner on medium heat. Stir until sugar melts. Mix, in a measuring cup, milk and custard until there are no lumps. When the pineapple is just starting to boil, slowly stir in the custard mix. Be careful because it will thicken fast and you want the right consistancy (not too thick but thick enough for it to set).
  • When flan cakes are done, pour the pineapple/custard mixture into the flan cakes. Let cool. Put in refrigerator for approx. 1 hour to set.
  • When cooled down, cover the flan cakes with Dream Whip (for extra flavour, add a little bit of coconut flavouring in your Dream Whip). Sprinkle the top with graham wafer crumbs and fine coconut.
