  • Mix all ingredients and form a soft dough.
  • Roll out to about 1/8 inch. Cut into small rectangles. Make a slit in the centre lengthwise. Turn one end through the slit to make a bow.
  • Deep fry in deep fryer or a pan with about 2 inches of oil until golden brown, turn quickly to brown both sides.

Notes

You can sprinkle with sugar, or dip in syrup or serve warm with soup or cold with watermelon. These make a great item for picnics or a snack and they freeze really well. I submit this recipe in memory of my mother.

    Haven't made this yet, but thanks for posting. As a child we lived on this in the summer, with watermelon - mmmmmmm, good!
