  • Saute onions, carrots and celery in butter or margarine 5 min. Add potatoes, water, chicken bouillon and salt. Heat to boiling. Cover and simmer 10-15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • Add any kind of fish you like (I add clams, haddock, shrimp. scallops, salmon, etc. - or you can use just 1 can clams and/or a chowder mix. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Mix flour with small amount of evaporated milk to make a paste. Gradually stir in remaining milk. Add to potato mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Sprinkle Kraft Parmesan Cheese and paprika over chowder.

    My husband is from the East Coast and claims its just like home. However, I use 2 cans of clams.

    I made this recipe for my co-workers and they all wanted the recipe. I put garlic and herb powdered mash potatoes to thicken the soup. Lots of compliments.

    We need gluten free - yes the flour can be substituted with corn starch, but you use less and the chicken bouillon in packages is very hard to find gluten free, you are probably better to use a broth or a Braags product.
