  • Peel tomatoes - (to facilitate peeling, douse each tomato in boiling water for a few seconds). Place tomatoes and white sugar in a large cooking pot, crush tomatoes and boil for 1 hour.
  • Add vinegar, cinnamon, ground cloves and salt. Boil combined ingredients gently until thick enough for jam - about 1 to 1.5 hours. Stir frequently.
  • Pour into sterile jars and seal with paraffin.

Notes

Not particularly a breakfast item -- although it is good on toast but is best on on meat sandwiches or with a meat and potatoes dinner.
