We love easy appetizers and this one is a favourite, for good reason! What’s not to love about puff pastry, cream cheese, bacon bits and cheddar cheese, all rolled into one savoury appetizer.

  • Unroll pastry onto parchment-covered baking sheet; cut crosswise in half to make 2 rectangles. Spread with cream cheese product, leaving 1/2-inch border on one long side of each.
  • Sprinkle with bacon and cheddar. Brush borders of pastry with egg. Roll up each tightly to form log, starting at side without the border. Freeze 1 hour.
  • Heat oven to 400ºF. Cut each log into 20 (1/2-inch-thick) slices. Return, cut sides down, to prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake 16 to 18 min. or until golden brown.

This recipe is great to have on hand for unexpected guests. Simply prepare as directed without baking; wrap tightly in plastic wrap and freeze. Then, you can cut and bake as needed.
