  • Heat oven to 375ºF.
  • Combine first 4 ingredients in large bowl; stir in chocolate chips. Whisk remaining ingredients in separate bowl until blended. Add to flour mixture; stir just until blended. (Batter will be lumpy).
  • Spoon into 12 muffin pan cups sprayed with cooking spray or line with paper baking cups.
  • Bake 22 min. or until lightly browned. Cool in pan 10 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

Special Extra

Stir 1/2 cup toasted chopped walnuts or pecans into muffin batter before spooning into prepared muffin pan cups.

Pour combined liquid ingredients into combined dry ingredients; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Batter will be lumpy. Do not stir until the batter is smooth. Overmixing can result in tough or rubbery breads or muffins. Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan, or muffin cups sprayed with cooking spray or paper-lined muffin cups. Bake as directed.
