  • Heat oven to 375ºF.
  • Combine tomatoes, 3/4 cup barbecue sauce and onion powder in slow cooker; cover with lid. Cook on HIGH until ready to add meatballs.
  • Meanwhile, cover 2 rimmed baking sheets with foil; spray with cooking spray. Mix meat, cracker crumbs, eggs, cheese and remaining barbecue sauce. Shape into 72 small meatballs, using about 1 Tbsp. meat mixture for each. Place on prepared baking sheets. Bake 15 min. or until done (160ºF).
  • Add meatballs to slow cooker; stir to evenly coat with sauce. Reduce heat to LOW to keep meatballs warm until ready to serve right from the slow cooker.

Serving Suggestion

Serve in crusty sandwich buns.

This is a great recipe to serve at a party since the slow cooker keeps the meatballs at a safe temperature for up to 4 hours or until they are all served.

How to Easily Crush the Crackers

Use a food processor or blender to crush the crackers.

I cook my meatballs in the microwave, very easy and no chance they will stick to anything. I cook them about 3/4 of the way done, then add them to the sauce. They are moist and very flavourful that way.

The flavour was great. I neglected to spray the foil and the meatballs stuck pretty bad. I will use less BBQ sauce next time as the meatballs were very soft.
