  • Heat barbecue to medium-high heat.
  • Tuck wings under back of turkey. Stuff body cavities with next 4 ingredients. Place turkey, breast side up, on roasting rack in large disposable foil pan.
  • Rub outside of turkey with 2 Tbsp. dressing. Place pan on grate of barbecue. Add apple cider to pan; close lid of barbecue.
  • Grill turkey 20 min. Reduce barbecue temperature to medium-low. Tent turkey loosely with foil. Grill turkey additional 1-3/4 to 2 hours or until done (170ºF), brushing occasionally with remaining dressing and adding water to pan as necessary to prevent drippings from burning.
  • Remove turkey from barbecue; let stand 20 min. before carving.


Substitute 4 cups apple juice for the apple cider.


Be sure to check your grill's gas tank prior to starting to grill the turkey. A full tank usually lasts about 17 to 18 hours, so make sure you still have enough left to completely cook the turkey.

How to Test Turkey Doneness

The turkey is done when a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast registers 170ºF.
