  • Heat oven to 425º F.
  • Melt butter in large saucepan on medium heat. Add onions; cook and stir 3 to 5 min. or under crisp-tender. Whisk in flour; cook 2 min. Gradually whisk in milk until blended; cook on medium heat 3 to 5 min. or until thickened, whisking constantly. Add cheese; cook 1 min. or until melted, stirring constantly. Add asparagus and toss to coat.
  • Pour mixture into 1.5-L baking dish and bake 15 min. or until bubbly and lightly browned. Let stand 10 min. before serving.


Try this recipe with 5 cups blanched broccoli florets or blanched cauliflower instead of asparagus.
