These savoury double-decker steak sandwiches are one of our favourites this season. They are a hearty but quick summer weeknight solution.

  • Heat barbecue to medium-high heat.
  • Reserve 4 tsp. barbecue sauce. Grill steak 8 to 10 min. or until medium doneness (160°F), turning and brushing occasionally with remaining barbecue sauce.
  • Meanwhile, mix Miracle Whip and mustard; spread onto cut sides of buns, then spread with remaining barbecue sauce.
  • Cut steak across the grain into thin slices. Fill buns with meat, cheese and tomatoes.


Substitute 4 quick-cooking minute steaks for the sirloin steak and reduce the cooking time to 2 min. on each side or until done. Since the steaks are so thin, there's no need to slice them before adding them to the buns.
