Make It

  • Heat oven to 375ºF.

  • Cut tops off rolls; set aside. Make 1-inch-deep indentation in centre of bottom half of each roll.

  • Crumble 6 bacon slices; sprinkle into bread bowls. Top with Velveeta. Crack egg over Velveeta in each bowl; place on baking sheet.

  • Bake 20 to 25 min. or until egg whites are completely set and yolks begin to thicken but do not become firm, adding tops of rolls, cut-sides up, to baking sheet for the last 5 min.

  • Sprinkle eggs with chives. Replace tops of rolls. Serve with remaining bacon slices.

Loved it and will be making it again. I used oblong buns and put 2 eggs in each. A little snug but cooked up fine.

The timing & temperatures were crazy... Way, way overcooked. I'd go lower and shorter - like 325 for 15 minutes. Could be tasty though, especially with Swiss and or parmesan.

I used crispy rolls,,they got to hard and crunchy and the eggs werent cooked in the 25 minutes..I used grated swiss and fontana and loved the taste. I will try again usingdifferent buns and maybe cover the dish with tinfoil until the egg is cooked and then uncover just to crisp up a bit...Hope it works... carol in Calgary

I would use a different cheese and make the holes way deeper.. but they were good and a great hit with everyone
