  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Combine flour, cocoa powder and cinnamon. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Add ketchup, egg and vanilla; mix well. Blend in melted chocolate. Gradually beat in flour mixture until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Drop tablespoonfuls of dough into 24 mounds, 2 inches apart, on baking sheets sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake 8 to 12 min. or until centres are set. (Do not overbake.) Cool on baking sheets 3 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

Substitute

Substitute white chocolate chips, raisins, dried cranberries or toffee bits for the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Special Extra

Use cookies to make ice cream sandwiches by filling 2 cookies with softened ice cream for each sandwich, then freezing until firm.

How to Store

Store the cooled cookies in airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days before serving. Or, freeze in freezer-weight resealable plastic bags up to 2 months; thaw overnight before serving.
