  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Beat 1 cup butter, sugar and 2 tsp. vanilla with mixer until blended. Add eggs and mix until combined.
  • Mix hazelnuts, flour, and baking powder in medium bowl. Add to butter mixture, mixing until combined. Shape dough into 48 one-inch balls. Place, 2 inches apart, on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake 14 to 16 min. or until edges are lightly browned. Let stand 1 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
  • Microwave chocolate and remaining butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. or until butter is melted; stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add icing sugar, milk and remaining vanilla; beat with mixer until well blended.
  • Pair up like-sized cookies; fill with scant tablespoon of icing to make 24 sandwiches.


Don’t have hazelnuts? Replace with pecans or almonds.
