Try your hand at something new - these warm appetizers are easy and delicious. With a few on-hand ingredients, you can whip up these baked tarts that are stuffed with ground beef, two kinds of cheese and a creamy sauce.

  • Cut crusts off each slice of bread. Butter one side of each slice then press buttered side down into muffin tins.
  • Combine all remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Fill each bread slice with about 1/4 cup beef mixture.
  • Bake 40 minutes at 350°F until mixture is browned on top and cooked through.


Lean ground turkey or lean ground pork can be substituted for lean ground beef.

Special Extra

Diced green and red peppers can be added or substituted for Spanish onion.

Healthy Living

3 egg whites can replace 2 eggs and reduced-fat soup can be used.

    My husband & I both liked it a lot, all 3 of my kids refused to eat it after 1 bite. I would not make it again simply because it's too much work for just us to eat, if the kids had liked it I would make it again though.

    Sooooo easy to make and interesting at the same time, something nice and different for dinner of lunch, served it with a nice huge salad and awesome. Jules

    Awesome! I have 2 out of 4 picky eaters, they all loved it, came back for seconds! Enough left over for lunch the next day - they never ate leftovers before! Great tasting, easy to make, I had all the ingredients in the house and never had to make a list and go buy!
