  • Crush berries thoroughly, one layer at a time. Measure exactly 4-1/2 cups prepared berries into large saucepan. Stir in lemon juice. Add sugar; mix well.
  • Bring to full rolling boil on high heat; cook 1 min., stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Immediately stir in liquid pectin. Stir and skim foam for 5 min. to prevent fruit from floating to surface.
  • Pour immediately into warm sterilized jars, filling to within 1/4 inch of rims. Cover with lids. Let stand at room temperature 24 hours or until set.

Food Facts

Bruised, overripe or blemished fruit should not be used when making homemade jam. For best results, use fruits that are just at their peak or freshness. Measure any fruit juices with the fruit.

How to Accurately Measure the Sugar

To ensure accuracy of the sugar measure when preparing jams or jellies, use a dry measuring cup to measure the sugar, then place all the measured sugar in a separate bowl before adding it to the boiling fruit mixture in saucepan.

Love this recipe. Have made it twice and has turned out both times. I also added about 1-1/2 tsp. of the zest from the lemon to give it a little extra flavor._
