  • Crust:

  • COMBINE graham crumbs, sugar, butter and nuts. Press evenly over bottom of a 9 inch springform pan.
  • Filling:

  • BEAT cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in yogurt and vanilla.
  • POUR into pan and bake at 325°F for 30-40 minutes or until mixture is set. Let cool to room temperature.
  • Topping:

  • CHOP cranberries, orange (with peel) and sugar in a food processor or blender. In a saucepan, sprinkle gelatin over orange juice. Let stand 2 minutes. Heat and stir over low heat until gelatin is dissolved. Stir into cranberry mixture. Spread over top of the cheesecake and refrigerate until set.
  • GARNISH with graham wafers and orange slices.

    Some people may find the orange flavour a little overpowering. You could use 1/4 of an orange. I also found that it is too much topping and would use half as much, or just spread thinly. I will definitely make this again with these slight modifications.

    This has become our new traditional Christmas dessert. I have made it using tangerines rather than the orange. Note: the filling and topping recipe will fill 2 small commercially made graham cracker crusts. I to eat and one to share.

    i mad this recipe as per the directions and it was delicious. I did find however that the photo did not match the recipe; in the photo hte cranberries are in the cake but the instructions have the berries in the topping. I may try it with the berries in the cake the next time.
