Using a split whole wheat baguette to make a tuna melt is so much easier than making individual sandwiches. And as a bonus, the crusty bread prevents the grilled sandwiches from getting soggy. This cheesy hot sandwich makes a great addition to a quick weeknight dinner.

  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Combine all ingredients except bread and cheese; spread onto cut sides of bread. Top with cheese.
  • Place on foil-covered baking sheet.
  • Bake 10 min. Remove sandwiches from oven. Heat broiler.
  • Broil sandwiches, 4 inches from heat, 2 to 3 min. or until cheese is lightly browned. Cut each baguette half into 8 pieces to serve.

Mediterranean Tuna Melt

Prepare recipe as directed, substituting 1/4 cup chopped green or black olives for the parsley and pickle relish, and stirring 1 Tbsp. chopped capers into tuna mixture before spreading onto baguette halves and baking as directed.

Special Extra

Spread garlic butter onto cut sides of baguette halves before topping with the tuna mixture.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with celery sticks.
