Make It

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine rice and water; let stand 5 min.

  • Spoon rice mixture evenly onto centre of each of four large sheets of heavy-duty foil. Top each with 1 chicken breast; sprinkle with chili powder. Drizzle evenly with dressing; top with cheese and vegetables. Bring up foil sides. Double fold top and both ends to seal each packet, leaving room for heat circulation inside. Place foil packets in single layer in 15x10x3/4-inch baking pan.

  • Bake 25 to 30 min. or until chicken is cooked through (170°F). Place one packet on each of four dinner plates. Cut slits in foil with sharp knife to release steam before opening.

I thought this recipe was fantastic! I had to use Caesar instead of ranch, but the chicken was delicious and juicy, and the veggies were out of this world. A definite repeat!

I really disliked this meal. The rice was too mushy, and the overall flavors just didn't work for me. I was cringing the entire time while eating it. The cheese, while put on top, ended up sliding to the bottom of the foil, and it took a way longer time to cook than they said. Overall, I was disappointed.

Not a fan of the flavors, used taco seasoning instead and perhaps should have used some other type of seasoning.

This dish is amazing. The whole family loved it, and best of all, clean up is a breeze! Definitly something I can make earlier in the day and have in the fridge ready to throw in the oven too. LOVE it.

My daugher-in-law made this recipe and all of thoroughly enjoyed it..She soaked the rice in chicken broth to give it more flavor. We all loved this dish and I cannot wait to prepare it myself..I would just add more carrots and less broccoli..

08/25/2009

I didn't care for this recipe. You would need to substitute the broccoli with another vegetable so it doesn't overcook. It just didn't work for me. And use foil release or pam spray your foil.

Instead of instant rice I used regular rice and cooked it untill it was almost done. Turned out great, the rice probably tasted better than using minute rice. I also used ceasor dressing instead of the ranch. Tasted fantastic and will cook it again!

This is fabulous! I am adding this recipe to our family favorites!

It was a delicious variation to grilled or barbecued chicken breast. Definitely a hit with the family and I would certainly serve it again. Having next to no dishes to do afterwards just adds to the delight of this meal.

12/04/2008

I liked it but I found the rice really bland.. I think I'll add some more cheese or dressing to the rice the next time.

I love this recipe i make it all the time for my family. Its quick, good, and easy!

10/23/2008

Quick, easy and delicious. The chili powder was not overwhelming, but provided a subtle flavour when combined with the ranch dressing. Great to make ahead and pop in the oven.

Easy to make and really delicious. The chili powder made the chicken very spicy! I used BBQ sauce instead of ranch and it was really good.

This was great and the chicken was so moist! We used taco seasoning instead of chili powder because we didn't want anything spicy.

Took alot longer to cook... and yes just put rice in warm water don't over cook it or it will be sticky.

I used jalapeno pepper cheese and different mixed vegetables.

01/07/2007

Veggies were a little dry and crunchy, but it was pretty easy.

My husband surprised me with this dish last week. He made me sit & relax while he cooked up a storm! What a nice change :o) And to top it off, it was delicious! (not to mention filling.... :o)

PERFECT FOR ME CAUSE I CAN ONLY EAT WHITE MEAT

02/16/2006

This dinner has high potential but it is lacking a few things. The chicken was very moist and the vegetables cooked perfectly, yet the meal lacked flavor. I would add spices such as garlic salt and pepper, plus maybe a few add in's such as ham and parmesan cheese.

02/03/2006

My family loved it.. Best way to make chicken!

02/02/2006

Where has this been all my life?! My husband and I are so thrilled about these Foil Packet dinners. We've tried 3 of them already and have enjoyed all of them. What I like best about them is how simple they are to make and how hassle-free they are! Make them in advance and pop them in the oven the next day! Thank you, Kraft Kitchens. You've made my life easier!

This receipe was excellent. Very quick and simple to make. Full of flavour and very moist. Easy cleanup a bonus.

Flavorful and moist chicken. Quick and easy cleanup. Love the fact it is a complete meal.

Tasty and easy. I kept chicken in oven for around 40 minutes so the meat was well cooked...30 minutes was not enough for 2 packets. Ranch gives a great unexpected flavour! Removing foil was a bit fussy.

I had company for dinner last night and made this dish. It was an absolute hit! I had everything prepped earlier in the day so it was easy to put it all together. Everyone left with a copy of the recipe! I am going to try the Stuffed Shells this evening and will let you know how they are.

My family really enjoyed this dish and clean up was a cinch. It gave me more time to spend with my family because preparation was a snap.
