Mini Deep Dish Pizzas

Mini Deep Dish Pizzas

Growing up as a young girl, my family dinners each night were always something that I looked forward to. I was lucky enough to have a great relationship with my parents, who also happened to be fantastic cooks, so coming together around a table to enjoy a good meal each night was always something to eagerly anticipate.

Although all of our dinners were pretty great, the one meal that stood out from all the rest was our family pizza nights! Of course my sister and I adored eating pizza, but pizza night became so much more than just enjoying one of our favourite foods - it was all about the experience of making a meal together. My parents would always buy enough dough at the grocery store so that we could make one large pizza for my parents, and two mini ones for my sister and I. Being able to have our very own pizzas meant enjoying the process of dressing our individual pizzas just the way we liked it! Having that freedom to make our very own creations meant so much to my sister and I, and contributed to what made those pizza nights so special.

With pizza nights holding such a special place in my heart, I was so excited to try a hack for making mini, individual deep-dish pizzas using store-bought biscuit dough baked in muffin tins! What drew me to this hack were all those memories of making my own personal pizzas with my family. I love that this hack encourages personal expression, allowing each member of the family to dress their pizza as they wish! With such a simple recipe and zero dough rolling or stretching, there’s so much more time left over to have fun dressing your pizzas and enjoy that quality time with your family! Although I have a suggestion for one of my favourite toppings here, feel free to experiment and top your pizza with your favourites!

Get These

  • cooking spray
  • 1 can (340g) country biscuits
  • ¾ cup tomato sauce
  • ½ cup Kraft 3 Cheese Pizza Shredded Cheese
  • 1 spicy Italian sausage, casings removed, cooked and drained
  • ¼ cup yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup green olives, sliced

Do This

  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF.
  2. Spray the cups of a muffin tin with cooking spray.
  3. Fit a biscuit into each muffin cup. Top each biscuit with a tablespoon of tomato sauce. Top the pizzas evenly with the remaining toppings.
  4. Bake for 16-18 minutes, or until biscuits are golden and cheese has melted. Serve immediately.

Done!
