Fried rice is a perfect way to use up leftover cooked rice. Mix it with colourful sweet peppers and a delicious tomato-based sauce and you've got the perfect meatless main dish, or tasty side dish, to serve with your favourite cooked meat.

  • Mix ketchup, tomato juice, lime juice, soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil and garlic until blended.
  • Heat vegetable oil in wok or large skillet on medium-high heat. Add yellow onions; stir-fry 3 min. Add peppers; stir-fry 5 min. Add rice and honey; stir-fry 2 min.
  • Add ketchup mixture; stir-fry 3 min. or until most the liquid is cooked off. Sprinkle with green onions.

Special Extra

For more heat, add 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce to cooked vegetable mixture in wok along with the ketchup mixture.


Prepare using long-grain brown rice.
