I made his cake for my father-in-law's 83rd BD. Everyone loved it. The only substitution I made was instead of 1/2 cup oil, I used 1/2 cup applesauce to reduce the amount of fat. I do this for most of my baking, you can't tell the difference.
Wow...what an easy, tasty cake! Took no time to prep which I love plus it was so good it barely lasted the weekend. I didn't have yellow cake mix so made it with a lemon mix instead and it still came out delicious. This one goes in the recipe box!
I have made this cake many times and it is lovely! I just changed it up and found a new favorite for the family. Swap the vanilla pudding for lemon pudding and cut the brown sugar down to 1/2 cup. Add 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut! Devine lemon coconut cake! Try it!
