To easily shred cooked chicken for recipes, place the slightly cooled cooked chicken on a cutting board. Use two forks or your fingers to pull the meat lengthwise into opposite directions, separating it into long shreds.
If pasta is to be used in a cold salad, rinse it under cold running water immediately after cooking to remove excess starch and help prevent the pasta pieces from sticking together. Drain thoroughly before combining with the other salad ingredients.
