This grilled version of the classic shrimp cocktail features a delicious honey garlic sauce flavoured with a burst of fresh lime.

  • Heat greased barbecue to high heat.
  • Grate enough zest and squeeze enough juice from 1 lime to measure 1 tsp. of each. Mix zest and juice with barbecue sauce, horseradish and hot sauce until blended. Discard zested and juiced lime.
  • Cut each of the remaining limes into 4 wedges; thread onto 8 skewers along with the shrimp. Reserve half the barbecue sauce mixture for later use; brush remaining barbecue sauce mixture onto shrimp and lime wedges.
  • Grill 3 to 5 min. or until shrimp turn pink, turning occasionally. Serve with reserved barbecue sauce mixture.


If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 min. before using to help prevent them from burning on the barbecue.


If serving a large group, prepare recipe as directed except cut 6 limes into wedges, then thread 1 each lime wedge and shrimp onto each of 24 skewers before grilling as directed.
